UPDATE ON RETURNING TO SCHOOL FOR THE START OF THE SPRING TERM

See message below from Swansea’s Interim Director of Education for the latest position on returning to school for the Spring Term.

Updated Position on Swansea Schools Return to Face to Face Learning

All Swansea schools will aim to return to face to face learning from Monday 11 January instead of 6 January. There will be a delay to face to face learning to allow time to consider updated information, expected next week, about Covid-19, including the new variant. All schools will provide online learning from Wednesday 6 January and each school will provide onsite childcare for vulnerable children if needed and critical workers’ children if essential from Wednesday 6 January. The position will be reviewed on 6 January.

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

Therefore, pupils will not return on the 6th of January, and we will inform you as parents of our arrangements for pupils to return from the 11th January, as soon as we can next week.

Our pupils’ attendance for their ‘online’ lessons was very encouraging before the holidays and we will re-start with these lessons on the morning of Wednesday 6th January for all pupils.

There will be a year group assembly on Wednesday the 6th at 08:40 and all pupils are expected to attend. As you now know, pupils will follow their usual timetable, with live lessons, where possible.

We will continue to invite some pupils to attend from Wednesday to support their well-being and we will provide emergency childcare for pupils (years 7 and 8) of key workers – please complete this questionnaire.
