School Closed Tuesday 6/1/26

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Following an assessment of the site at 8:00pm this evening, we have taken the decision to close the school to pupils and staff tomorrow – Tuesday 06.01.25.

Despite efforts today to clear pedestrian routes from the bus bay, along the entrance from Gwyrosydd Road and around the site itself, a number of areas have already frozen solid, with significant amounts of slippery black ice now present on the site. With the forecast predicting continued low temperatures and therefore significant frost, there is a high risk to pupils and staff when travelling to school. In addition, the general pedestrian pathways around the school are extremely slippery.

We do not take decisions of this nature lightly, but we must prioritise the health and safety of our pupils and staff at all times. We hope that making this decision this evening will enable parents to make appropriate childcare arrangements, where applicable, for tomorrow.
