Congratulations to Laura Hughes in Year 13 for winning third prize in this year’s Dafydd Rowlands Memorial Award. The judge, T.James Jones praised her work immensely. Well done to Catrin Hedges who was also shortlisted for the prize.

Congratulations to Sara Dafydd from Year 13 for coming second in the Young People’s Trophy competition for under 25s this year at the Hendy Eisteddfod where there were 35 competitors. Well done also to Rhydian Cleaver from Year 12 for being shortlisted.

It was a pleasure to hear of the success of two pupils from Year 13 winning scholarships to continue to study Welsh at university next year. Sara Dafydd won a creative scholarship at Cardiff University’s Welsh Language Department, and Laura Hughes won a scholarship with Swansea University’s Welsh Language Department. We wish them all the best next year!
