On Thursday afternoon, 22 June, a group of year 8 pupils went to the Senedd in Cardiff Bay for the Rotary’s award ceremony. Four year 8 pupils were invited to the ceremony because of the high standard of their work: Ffion Tomos, Anwen Morgan, Ben Lervy and Jack Thomas. They wrote impressive and creative pieces on the theme of “World Peace” by discussing themes and topics such as accidental blame, appreciating what we have, protecting the environment, kindness and humanity. The four were called to the stage to receive certificates from Rhiannon Passmore AM. After that it was announced that Jack had come second in the competition and he returned to the stage to receive his certificate and prize. High praise was given to everyone’s work by the judges. Congratulations everyone, especially Jack!
