The school would like to thank renowned author, Phil Carradice, for visiting our school on Tuesday, 28th November. Phil discussed his novel, ‘The Black Chair’ with our year 9 pupils and explored how he had been inspired by the story of the famous Welsh poet, Hedd Wyn. The workshop was part of a project across the languages departments which is focusing on the centenary since Hedd Wyn’s death during the First World War. Our pupils listened intently as Phil discussed the writing process and the fascinating research which led to this novel.
