Huge congratulations to the school’s Public Speaking Team for winning the third prize in the final round of the Rotary Competition at the Senedd in Cardiff. The title of their debate “Help or hindrance – this is another example of us losing the language battle”.  Rhydian Cleaver chaired the discussion, Nansi Eccott proposed the statement and Steffan Leonard opposed it. Congratulations as well to Nansi for winning the second prize for being the best proposer!!

Four pupils had excellent experiences on the A Level course at Glan-llyn. They attended lectures given by a host of authors including  Karen Owen, Ifor ap Glyn, Caryl Lewis, Manon Steffan Ross and Myrddin ap Dafydd. After the day’s lectures, a twmpath and Talwrn (poetry contest) was held in the evening. A very special experience! Congratulations to the  team (Heledd Owen, Nel Richards, Angharad Thomas and Betsan James) for coming joint third in the Talwrn!

The “Mewn Cymeriad” Company came to perform a drama about Kate Roberts for years 10 and 11 and the Sixth Form on Thursday, 16 November. This was a valuable opportunity to have a glimpse into the life of our “Literary Queen”.
