During the Whitsun half term break, around 80 children from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe attended the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llanelwedd. They were to compete in 16 competitions representing West Glamorgan in the national round of the festival. These competitions included the year 7 – 9 choir, the reciting group, the cerdd dant choir, the cogurdd competition and the senior girls’ choir, to name but a few. They were very successful with 4 of the competitions reaching the stage, including Steffan Leonard who was competing in the recitation solo and Ffion Tomos and Catrin Kiernan who were competing in the duet. We had literary success also, with Sion Thomas winning 3rd prize in the year 8 poetry competition and another 3rd in the digital product competition under 19. Bryn Tawe also had success in creating a project and a website. Congratulations to all involved from Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe.
