Congratulations to Siôn Thomas for winning third prize in the Year 8 Poetry category, in the Urdd National Eisteddfod this year.

A group of pupils from years 7 to 9 succeeded in winning first prize for creating a joint project under the title of “Other Worlds”, and the older pupils were just as successful as they won the joint project award for the under 25s.

Congratulations, also, to Betsan James from year 13 for winning ‘Tlws yr Ifanc, (Young Person’s Award) for the under 25s in the Hendy Chaired Eisteddfod this year. Fifty candidates took part in the competition and the judge, Dyfrig Davies, praised Betsan’s short written piece, entitled “Y Dêt”, very highly. Well done to Rhydian Cleaver and Heledd Owen for coming close to winning also.
