Huge congratulations to six pupils from year 10 who competed in the regional round of the ESU competition. The team consisting of Ffion, Anwen and Lowri succeeded in claiming the runners-up prize of a very competitive heat with an excellent standard of debate. Congratulations particularly to Ffion for winning the best chairperson prize. Anwen succeeded in delivering an engaging speech on the controversial topic of banning books, while Jack engaged the audience by arguing how today’s society are addicted to the internet. Ashton and William also deserve praise for their valuable contributions. The school would once again like to thank the English Speaking Union and we wish Ysgol Gyfun Gŵyr team the very best of luck in the Welsh National Final next March.
